William James Glackens (born March 13, 1870, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania; died May 22, 1938, in Westport, Connecticut) was a U.S. painter.
He studied at the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts. He later moved to New York, where he co-founded Ashcan School.
Glackens became known for his pictures of street scenes and urban life. He was one of the first painters of realism in the country.
At the Macbeth Gallery in 1908, he was part of a group called The Eight.
