Wood Frames
All wood frames use a small amount of gesso - a mixture of glue and chalk, applied to the surface of the wooden frame structure to provide a smooth surface for the gilding material. This is generally true in 99% of wood frames you find in your local frame shop.
Polystyrene frames
Polystyrene is a blend of plastic and other chemicals that makes it stronger and more durable than just plain plastic frames. They will not warp due to differences in heat and cold like wood frames, are extremely durable and a bit more environmentally friendly than their wood counterparts.
Our oil paintings reproductions are 100% hand painted on stretched canvas. The Great Masters paintings are meticulously
painted by skilled and experienced artists. Each painting is hand painted
using only top quality oil paints. We take pride in being the best.
